Tuesday is not just for tacos…

Site of Grasslands Restoration Project in Sandy Springs.

Giving Tuesday will be here soon on December 3rd. This global movement of giving back is a chance to show support for causes that are important to you.

Giving Tuesday is a major event for non-profit organizations. The funds we raise during this campaign determine the amount of environmental impact we can achieve throughout the year in Sandy Springs. Environment Sandy Springs is a unique non-profit in that we focus on ecosystem restoration on privately-owned land. Did you know that 93% of Georgia consists of private land ownership? In addition, we advocate for conservation policy change. Those combined efforts allow us the opportunity to be real environmental changemakers.

At E.S.S., our purpose is to empower the residents of Sandy Springs to preserve, protect, and restore our community environment one yard at a time.

We’re currently focusing on our Grasslands Regeneration Project. This initiative aims to restore ecosystems under power lines. Through this expensive—but vital—project, we will remove invasive species, remedy the soil, and restore pollinators using native plants and grasses, as well as sequester carbon. The project will also supply wildlife corridors and provide equity to the surrounding neighbors.

Our work has impact, and it sparks conversation, connection, and change:

-We provide best practice informed solutions to uncontrolled urbanization and tree canopy loss.

-We facilitate pilot programs that regenerate degraded green spaces.

-We advocate to help guide city policy change.

-We educate and facilitate restoration of healthy ecosystems on private land for all to benefit from in perpetuity.

-We hold polluters accountable.

-We gather environmental data that empowers voters.

Please help us to be “Good Neighbors with Nature”. Can we count on you?
